This is a design and build project for a new ranger depot in the Waitākere Ranges Regional Park. The work includes demolition of the storm-damaged building on site, and construction of a new fit-for-purpose depot. The new building includes offices, bathroom and changing facilities, a lunchroom, meeting room and storage facilities. There will also be upgrades to the driveway and carparking, as well as improved stormwater management.
The project also includes the relocation of the nursery from Arataki to Cornwallis, to maximise available space at the depot. This required the upgrade of an existing barn, construction of a new office and amenities block and the addition of a shade house and hard stand areas, as well as civil works to manage stormwater and provide more durable surfaces for operations.
